Pentland Skyline – mass training run

The popular Pentland Skyline hill race was cancelled this year due to widely publicised landowner issues. The hill runners headed to the east for a hill run anyway. Normally the route around the Pentlands is a tough battle against other clubs from around the country. This was however a much more social affair where club allegiance cast aside united in the battle for the rights to continue to race in the hills. There were scenes and feelings similar to how the walkers must have felt during the mass trespass of Kinder Scout in 1932.
